It is so interesting to learn that an animal you can identify may actually only be one of many species or subspecies. I think Ostriches are really interesting because they are so different from what we are used to seeing.

I agree! I feel the same way about peafowls (I did a separate article on them here if you'd like to take a look https://birdfunfacts.substack.com/p/the-peacock-a-symbol-of-deepavali?utm_source=%2Fsearch%2Fdeepavali&utm_medium=reader2) because in Asia, we really only know the Indian peafowl. So learning about different species is so cool!
